When you're going through a BIG Shift it may not seem like the happiest of times. Actually, you're more likely to experience stress and an array of negative emotions. That's when the super power of your smile can help you shift your state instantly.
Do you know you were born smiling? 3D Ultrasound technology has now determined that babies come in with a smile. Do you know that children smile more than 400 times per day? No wonder being around children is often an uplifting experience.
There have been numerous studies that prove smiling actually changes your brain. Smiling reduces stress and enhances your physical well being. The simple act of smiling leads to not only feelings of happiness, but activates the feel good chemistry in your body.
And … we can all tell the difference between a felt or a fake smile. Make it real.

Words are things, my friends, and this Daily Shift is explicitly purposeful in its use of ‘relinquish your resistance.'
Merriam Webster describes relinquish as “voluntarily cease to keep or claim; give up” and resistance as “refusal to accept something new or different.” I almost used surrender but it has such strong connotations of ‘less than' that I flipped my word pool.
With today's New Moon partial Solar Eclipse in Scorpio, it is a perfect day to reach into the recesses of the darkest corners within you and let it go. It is a perfect day to bring the light of awareness to what no longer serves you. It is a perfect day to relinquish your resistance to what wants to gloriously come through you.
It's not hard to do, either. Find a quiet space and feel the rhythm of your breath, come and go. Allow that sensation of come and go to release your resistance. Acknowledge that it is occurring and notice the awareness that arises in its stead. Then plant the seed of a new intention and feel it firmly nestled and nurtured. It's time to relinquish the old and receive the new.
Surrender is a power tool. Yes it is.

Ever had a conversation with someone and gotten so caught up in your own thinking that you didn't hear a thing the other person said? Do you ever get lost because you're so into the song on the radio that you totally blipped out on your next turn? These kinds of experiences are everyday occurrences, right? They are for the overburdened mind.
What if you pulled your focus back HERE when you felt a mental meandering coming on?
This isn't as hard as it seems, even though at first it might feel like you're trying to rein in a team of wild horses. Be gentle with yourself. For most of us it takes regular and consistent practice, a mere 5-10 minutes a day, to build the attention muscles. They're what will help you see a new world.
Consider this also… YOUR ‘be here now' can look and feel different than anyone else's, though it may share similar qualities. Your ability to BE fully present is your own. Notice how it feels.
What are the sensations that occur in your body?
What are the thoughts, if any, that soar across the inner vision of your mind?
What things are you lead to speak, write, share, do?
Who are you when you are BEing?
These explorations are key in mapping out your own inner terrain. In this you are sovereign. Others can certainly be your companion on the adventure, but you make your own path. It's the only way to shift your experience and create real transformation in your world.
