Celebration can be a bittersweet experience during a BIG Shift. My latest BIG Shift occurred 10 days before my birthday. You can bet that I savored every moment of the joyous celebration as my family gathered to honor my special day, despite the tinge of losing my home and most of my belongings.
Celebration is a way of honoring the abundance in your world, the richness in your life and the blessings that abound. It moves you from being a spectator to a participant in the mystery and magic of Life. It's a powerful way to proclaim the joy of living and being here now.
Don't wait for a special occasion or holiday. Celebrate! Celebrate! Celebrate!

Remember a moment when you were experiencing great difficulty and someone extended a gesture of kindness? Didn't it shift your whole world? It's like the lights come on, colors become vibrant, your heart comes to life and all is well in the world again. Imagine if you took this practice to heart and did it on a daily basis when you're going through a BIG Shift?

The Buddhists have mastered the practice of loving-kindness and compassion. Buddhist teachings always emphasize that, unless you practice and integrate these qualities into your everyday world, you won't attain enlightenment and liberation.
Scientific studies have concluded that there are physiological benefits to practicing compassion too — people who practice it produce 100 percent more DHEA, which is a hormone that counteracts the aging process, and 23 percent less cortisol — the stress hormone. Loving kindness and compassion are good for you, in so many ways.
Here's a loving-kindness meditation that you can add to your daily practice. This meditation is simple and can be done in 5 minutes.
Sit comfortably with your eyes closed. Allow your focus to originate from the sensations in your heart as you share your loving-kindness with yourself and others. Imagine what you wish for your life. Maybe something like:
May I be healthy and strong. May I be happy. May I be filled with ease.
Practicing loving-kindness and compassion will not only change your world but will ripple change into the world around you.

Gratitude is one of those sacred tools that can easily be glossed over. If you're caught up in a surface “Thank You” and politeness you'll totally miss it. Gratitude is an energy that moves through you like a tsunami wave of abundance. It's expansive, energizing, entrancing.
Take a moment right now to list out on a piece of paper everything that you're grateful for . . . Don't stop at the stuff: your books, your home, your car and clothes. Extend it to everything around you: the chair you're sitting on, the natural flow of your breath, the way your belly ripples when you laugh really hard. Take a moment to notice the wonder all around you: the child you just passed on the street who smiled at you disarmingly, the feel of your toes against your shoes, the way your heart expands when someone you love walks into the room.
Infinite miracles abound in your world, take a moment to notice them and acknowledge their gifts to you. Walk around as the abundant being that you are and give “Thanks!” throughout your day. This simple practice of seeing the “Wow!” will shift your default perspective into one of flow and fun. Let the lightness of your love infuse everything and everyone.
